Some lenders ( not all ) offer a cashback scheme on payment protection insurance.

Different lenders offer different schemes and this is only intended as a guide.

The cashback schemes reward people who have not made a claim on their insurance by refunding all or part of the insurance premium after a certain time has elapsed.

Please remember that most people will either forget to claim or will not qualify and this is why the lender can afford to make the offer.

1. There are always terms and conditions and exclusions so read the small print.
   
2. Usually your loan agreement has to run for a minimum period before you can claim back the premium e.g. 10 years.
   
3. Usually the cash back offer only applies to loans over a minimum amount e.g £10,000.
   
4. Your agreement may still have to be running at the time of the cashback claim i.e. you must not have settled the loan earlier or you will not qualify.
   
5. You may not be able to claim your cashback if your account has been in arrears or have had arrears of more than one month.
   
6. If you have made a claim under the insurance policy you will not be able to claim the premium back.
   
7. If there is a dispute as to the level of arrears on the loan account or whether you have received a benefit under the policy the lenders decision will be final.
   
8. Please remember that most credit insurance policies only cover you for the first 60 months of the agreement.
